EXPEDITION EVERST
Expedition Everest is a high-speed, Himalayan adventure attraction. The attraction consists of an authentic Nepalese-inspired village and a nearly 200’ tall mountain range.
Themed attraction projects are by nature unique. Because this attraction included a high-speed ride system, the installation complexity was increased and many hours of testing were required prior to commissioning. The ride system had to be operational and running before the construction of the building was complete.
The attraction site is just over 6 acres and includes ten separate buildings totaling approx. 52,500 square feet of building footprint area. The mountain is covered in over 200,000 square feet of themed carved rockwork. ERMCO of Florida provided the entire electrical scope of work from the high voltage feeders to the telecommunications and data infrastructure
The project consisted of over 262,383 feet of conduit, which is roughly 50 miles and 1,177,159 feet, or about 223 miles of wire. ERMCO of Florida’s scope of work involved many systems including normal power, emergency power, show power, ride power, facility lighting, show lighting, fire alarm, show control, ride control, audio, telephone, data, POS, intercom, intrusion monitoring, temperature control, CATV, CCTV, security, automated vehicle maintenance system, Nextel antennae system, lightning protection, FLIK system, special effects and fast-pass systems.
